ACT Prep Sessions led by Hamlin teachers will begin first week of february to help students build confidence and strengthen test-taking skills. While students will prepare for the ACT in their core classes, additional preparation is strongly encouraged.

The ACT is a college admissions test that can impact college placement, dual credit opportunities, and scholarship eligibility. For students planning to attend college or qualify for merit-based scholarships, taking and preparing for the ACT is an important step. All juniors will take the ACT at Hamlin in March as part of the state-required testing.

Youth Tobacco Survey

‘Our middle school students will take the 2025–2026 Youth Tobacco Survey for the South Dakota Department of Health. This anonymous survey helps improve programs that prevent youth tobacco use. Students will complete it in class on Friday. If you do not give consent, please complete the form. For questions, contact the school.’
